About
I am a power systems professional with a strong background in the commissioning, analysis, and validation of protection and control schemes across Hydro One's transmission and distribution networks. In my daily work, I bridge practical field execution with engineering principles to troubleshoot complex issues and ensure the reliability of the grid. A major part of my role involves evaluating protection logic, analyzing system data, and verifying the integration of SEL, GE, and Siemens relays. My focus is on guaranteeing that these protection schemes operate precisely as designed prior to equipment energization. Because this work involves stringent UWPC procedures, safety and the integrity of the power system dictate everything I do. Having recently graduated with my B.Tech in Power and Energy Engineering Technology, I am actively expanding my understanding of the analytical aspects of modern protection logic, including the networking and telecom elements that support these systems. I am currently applying for my P.Eng. designation and am always open to connecting with others in the utility and engineering community.
How I run the P&C portion
On larger jobs I typically lead the P&C portion, for example transformer protection: I'm briefed by my supervisor, coordinate wiring changes with construction, and carry out the P&C commissioning and testing.

Commissioned new breaker, bus, line and capacitor bank protection at a 230/500 kV bulk-system station, delivering an audit-ready as-built package.
Scope
Commissioned new SF6 breakers and IED-based bus, breaker, line (distance) and capacitor bank protection.

Installed teleprotection, wrote the end-to-end test procedure, and found a logic defect before the scheme went in service.
Installed two NSD-570 teleprotection units, updated line settings, wrote the end-to-end check procedure and found a block/unblock logic defect.
